im getting to see so many ugly sides of people. And realised, this world is so scary.

People who shoots words without thinking of others feelings. Who threw tantrums/attitudes at people for unknown reasons. People who put blames on others, cook up stories to be an angel and makes others the devil. And MORE! The list will go on and on. Whats wrong?? im really puzzled.

Service industries especially. People always have to put up a fake smile, be nice and the moment customers/guests' back turn! What?
Ive seen it for myself, or even been one myself at times. A guest walks past, smile, greet. And once the guest past, we talk bad, we roll eyes. I often pays attention to other colleagues who meets guest, be it in-hse or site inspection guest. They chat, laughs like they're some old friends for years. Once back is turned, again, immediate facial expression change. Not even a smile or whatsoever.

How often are we sincerely speaking and acting? How often are we being nice straight from the heart? I dont know about others. But ive always been doing this self reflection. God had created humans with different personalities, characters. But its you yourself, who could make a difference, a change.

Yesterday, a guest came and requested for late check out. And one thing i couldnt uderstand till now in my 6yrs in hotel industry is, how could some people be so "no-shame" to ask for free this and that, and gave this "i ask, you MUST give" kind of attitude. Asked for late check out till 430pm cos "son needs to sleep from 2-4pm"?? My colleague was nice enough to extend a 2hours LCO till 2pm for them. The guest literally stood there and argued for a good 15-20minutes, repeating again and again her son dont sleep before 2pm and wont wake up before 4pm. They are actually expatriates staying in Singapore! If it true that your son have to sleep at 2, why cant you check out at 12 and bring your son home to sleep? She then used "spa appointment" that coincidently ends at 4 to check out at the same requested time. When declined, she threatened to cancel spa appointment. When i asked if she wants me to call spa for her to cancel now rather than cancel tomorrow and got imposed cancellation fee, she stumbled and reject. Nonetheless, i gave spa a call and got to know, she did not have a appointment booked at all! Today, when we were all certain she will not check out even at the extended check out time of 3pm, she leaves before 1pm. This, however made me smile. For a reason, i could get the room ready for the next arrival/guest. And another, though she acted that way the night before, but she had given a step in by perhaps understanding our position.

In life, there always had to be one who gives, and one who take. I really hope everyone could be in harmony. Cos im sick of these giving faces, attitudes kind of things among friends/colleagues. Afterall, we aint kids anymore.
