it was a long, tiring day at work. Got home only at 1am. Usual shit, no operator on shift, and tons of calls came ringing, doing e bao-ka-liao shit. And only me and a trainee on shift.

People say, chocs make one happy. It works for me. So whenever im not doing well, i'll turn to chocs. And these, i have Nelson to thanks!
He waited at my shuttle bus point with these, who claims to know i wont call him so he waited there. Thank you ah, Mr Ho.

And i did this last night, making full use of my last off day before im back to work again. All of a sudden, my manicure pen works again, after being "dead" for long. p.s: the blinks are to cover the flaws. lol

2nd appointment on 5july. The bad part is, im off 3rd and 4th. So aint possible for me to get another off since my 2 trainees had ended their days in the hotel by then. Under a "no-choice" circumstances, i told my asst.front office manager about it. She doesnt seem surprise, nor not surprise. But she said "if any of you could get a better opportunity outside, go for it. I understand why you all want to go." I was talking to her for about 15mins. At some point, tears well up a little. Perhaps she realize it. But kept quiet. She said almost about the same as another manager of mine. "There's no way we'll ask you all to stay here. If you all will be happier and better, why not?" I told her, if so, i will be leaving any time within this year, or next few months. She stared at me for a moment. And repeated "if you need to go, you go and pursue it."

My heart felt so heavy. But i know opportunities dont arise easily. Another stage i needa go through was the pay negotiation. Almost preparing i might not get as much as what im drawing now. Even if they offer, i wouldnt get my targeted. Which is 2.5k. Wish me luck, once again.

Starting work at 4pm today. Wanted to sleep till noon but got woken up by a phone call. A good phone call - For my 2nd appointment. Though i clearly remember and know i was being told "we are interested in having you in our company." but i was having a 2nd thought that perhaps i got it wrong. But no longer. "Congratulations on your appointment in our company" confirmed everything. And in a matter of months, i'll be out of SRS. Out of this place where ive been for the last 8yrs. All the great colleagues i have at the desk. I'm gonna miss all of them so much.. Its time to move on, try out new challenges and learn.

Two days off is over in a blink. Been on noon shift for months. Thinking on the brighter side, i'll get more rest and spend less. Good isnt it?

I need a break.
But i know no matter what, i'll always have him by my side, motivating me, standing by me. Thank u, love.

How well could this be.

I guess this hotel could survive with just a front desk running. With just a slightly over 2K pay, i am
-Front Desk - Check in and check out guest
-Concierge - Help guest with luggage, attractions enquiries
-Reservation - Assist with reservations
-Tel Operator - Assist with phone calls, wake up call
-Housekeeping - Assist with guest's request for make up room, amenities
-Engineering - Asssist with faults in rooms/publiv area
-Restaurant reservation - Assist with bookings for 4 outlets
-Sales - Do site inspections after office hours
-Spa - Assist with booking

Do we look like we idle at counter doing nothing? We are 24/7 busy! At least, on 9 out of 10days. We have guests walking past almost every minute. We have guest who approach us at least every interval of 3-5min. We have check in and check out to do. We have continuos phone calls ringing.

7 rings from main line not answered, calls get bounce out. And if the operator on duty tries to lay it off, it'll be our duty to get it. And i think we are like the only hotel with only ONE operator on duty? And good life, no night shift. Yea, so night shift does EVERYTHING! Manning all the lines, wake up calls, front desk, reservations.

And now! They actually ask us to do reservations for same day and next day after 5pm. How great could that be? Who ever thought of a senerio whereby a guest is waiting to be served and yet you're on the line, unable to put the caller on hold? How would you feel if you're the guest, having to wait up to 10mins to be served? Great isnt it?

Marvellous place to work in. Cant wait. i just cant wait!

Decision fixed. We'll be heading Phuket. :)
Thanks to BF for accomodating. He love the villa i picked. BUT! Now i found another pretty nice place. =.=" CHECK THIS OUT!

Very shop-house looking. The rooms..

The outdoor shower.

And the pool.

There are rooms with private jacuzzi or spa pool. And it open up to an open air garden. But i doubt we need that. Now i have a evil thought - Spending some nights here. And spending some nights at the other. ;p

I WANT A BEACH HOLIDAY!!!~
Bring me here!! Pleeeeasssseeee~

Centara Villa Phuket
Chanced upon this place while browsing. I like! Its individual villas on its own, with or without pool or jacuzzi.

And the rooms are sea-facing. With sun-decks on the balcony.

I miss this blue sea so much. I wanna be back there!!

I'm gonna talk to BF tomorrow. We are having a little debate over cruise or Langkawi. Then i thought of Krabi, which i had been some two years back. But cos there's no direct flight, i thought of Phuket. Which again though i had been there about 8 months back, BUT! I wanna go AGAIN~ I love Thailand~

Spent a lazy afternoon yesterday. BF wanna work out, hence we headed to Bedok Reservoir where he acc me to walk for approx. 30min before he brought me to the floating platform while he goes on his run. Yea, anyone should have expected i wont be joining him. 1 round would be hell for me. Not forgetting its under the hot sun. Despite the big sunny day, it was rather breezy. Watched the uncles do remote boat racing (or whatever that's called) while on my mp3. BF came back shortly which i thought was some 15min but 27min had passed without my knowing. He was pretty disappointed with the result, which he says he used to be able to finish like 24mins or so. Well, to me it seems like a less than 5min doesnt make much of a diff. But he took it differently.

Seeing others blog, many people had blogged about "Half a year had passed". Yea, i hadnt really reflect back on the past half a year. How had everything been? I fell from a relationship that i held much hope on. Despite all the happenings, i did not give up nor back off. But eventually, i let go after 1yr. Many told me i took too long. Still, its over and whats left would only be memories, locked up in my own pandora box.

Met a imperfectly beautiful man, Dan. Its been two months down the road. Short, with lotsa arguements and disagreement. But we never fail to talk things out and make up. A man completely diff from all the others. And im thankful for his presence in my life. For like i mentioned before, you just know he meant everything he said. Cos he is a practical individual, who dont talk the impossible.

Ups and downs on work. But im glad i moved on. I stepped out of the "circle" i've always been trapped in. I'll update further on this when the time is ripe. :)

New friends come, old friends go. How often do one friend stay in your life? Everyone is busy with own's life. For those who care, just know i'm doing well and i'm happy for now.

What lies ahead of the remaining 6months before 2009 come to an end? I hope to make the fullest out of it. Especially with the upcoming challenge im gonna face, much soon towards the end of the year or coming next year. Wish me luck!

Meet Baby Kaylyn!

This is my 2nd time seeing her since her birth. And the first was on Jac's wedding, some a year odd back. Now, baby Kaylyn is TWO! :)

Went over to Jer's place, supposed to be having lunch there. Aunt called me up in the morning asking if i wanna head over Karen's place together. So we did. Sis did not expect me. So it was a surprise for her. And Fang, Karen's hubby, did not recognise me at all when he walk out of the room! That was a good laugh for everyone. It was also my first time meeting sis's 2nd baby, 3months old Kayden. He's sucha chubby boy with lovely double eyelid. :) But seeing sis juggling with both of them was sucha tough job. With both of them crying especially, and little Kaylyn, full of jealousy over her baby bro. But i love the way she fight over for mum and grandma when they carry little bro. "Ah-ma bao bao" or "MUMMY!!" Just remind me of how i seek my grandma's attention last time when i see her carrying sis.

Brought Kaylyn out with us for lunch. As per aunt, its the first time she brought Kaylyn out without her mummy following. But we didnt stay out for long cos she keep wanting aunt to carry her, which she couldnt. To our surprise, a two year old would say "i dont want to go home", shaking her hand and head together. We guess sis had been too hard on her at home. Smart girl could actually also look at the menu and pointed to us a dish and said "I want noodle soup". Best part was, she pointed to the right dish! How kids grow these days.

It had been a good day, catching up with all of them. But missing Loretta and Jac. I miss them too. Uncle dropped me off in Orchard, where i waited for baby to end work and head to movie, followed by dinner as Aston Katong and we had a long chat over sea breeze at East Coast and gotten home at 0430.

Heading out now. Its our off day! :)

Off day x 2, followed by night shift. Jer's mum ring me for lunch tomorrow. And seeing bf after his work for dinner and movie. *BIG smile~
